Cyber16, the 16th annual cybersecurity symposium, achieved remarkable success this year by offering attendees a comprehensive and engaging experience. The event featured a diverse lineup of industry experts who covered critical topics such as AI, ransomware, and mobile security. Beyond traditional presentations, attendees engaged in thought-provoking panel discussions, networked during catered lunches and a closing cocktail reception, and explored sponsor booths. With the presence of renowned keynote speaker Jane Lute at 51AV, Cyber16 effectively elevated participants' cybersecurity knowledge and connections. Cyber16 was the premier regional cybcersecurity symposium of the year, with nearly 400 total attendees and 50+ high school students!

The symposium is a combined effort of NKU’s College of Informatics and Chase College of Law presented by Cortex by Palo Alto Networks. Five tracks of talks will cover a broad range of cybersecurity topics from highly technical topics to governance and legal issues in cybersecurity. Specific tracks will be provide Continuing Legal Education and Continuing Professional Education credit.
The keynote speaker is Robert Siciliano, a security expert and private investigator with over 30 years of experience and the author of five books. He was the architect of the CSI Protection certification, a cyber social identity and personal protection security awareness training program. He is CEO of Safr.Me and head trainer at ProtectNowLLC.com.

Three NKU students from Professor Chris Christensen's CSC/MAT 483 Cryptology class won the Kryptos codebreaking contest. Our talented NKU students are Will St Onge, Shawn Huesman, and Wie Sie.

Based on the website, there are one hundred and twenty eight students (totally 65 teams) participated in this competition. NKU student team won the title of First Place Team.

51AV cyber defense team placed 1st yesterday, Feb. 1, at Kentucky Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. There were 3 teams from Kentucky participating in yesterday's competition: NKU, EKU, and University of Louisville. NKU team participated remotely at Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab for yesterday’s event. So now NKU team is advanced to the Midwest Regional Competition and will compete with 9 state champion teams in Chicago on March 13 and 14.
