Our Department encourages and assists students seeking internship opportunities. Our Majors have access to the Humanities Internship & Coop Canvas Site which provides updates on current discipline related internships in our region. Students are also encouraged to use: NKU’s HandShake () and NKU’s Institute for Student Research & Creative Activity’s Student Opportunity Center () portals to view current internship opportunities.   

Our students have interned at: Behringer Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and Mound City-Hopewell National Historic Park, among others.

The Sociology Program supports students seeking and applying for internships beyond the campus-wide resources such as  and . Sociology majors and minors have engaged in co-ops, research practicums and research projects in partnership with various agencies and businesses including Cengage Learning, U.S. Bank, Carmel Manor, DHL Express, ADI Research, Administrative Office of the Courts (Frankfort, KY), Campbell County Adult Literacy, Children's Hospital, Cincinnati Museum Center,  Cincinnati Pollution Prevention Advisory Council, Natural History Museum, Brighten Center, Urban Appalachian Council, Kroger, Erlanger Rescue Squad, Legal Aid of Cincinnati, Senior Services of Northern Kentucky, Covington Independent Schools (Spanish translator), and Coalition for the Dignity and Rights for Immigrants.
